Eros Wins - Student Encampments as Protest

Welcome to this episode of Eros Wins: The 1st Year of Dystopia Unmasked.

In today's episode, we celebrate and reflect on the journey Dystopia Unmasked has taken over the past year, uncovering the deep-rooted systems of control, exploitation, and injustice that shape our world. As we examine the historical and current dynamics of imperialism, colonialism, and the weaponization of state power, we see how these forces don't just impact distant lands, but also deeply affect our own communities. In the realm of geopolitics, we call this the New Jim Crow.

We’ll explore how race, class, and geopolitics intersect, and how social media—originally created as a modern commons but now dominated by private interests—has become both a tool of resistance and a weapon of oppression. We'll delve into why social media must be liberated from private hands and reimagined as a platform that serves the public good. Through powerful insights, historical reflections, and a call to action, this episode challenges us to reimagine our role in dismantling these systems and building a new world rooted in collective well-being. We call this process Overgrowing.

As we enter another year, we pause, reflect, and take a deeper look at where we are headed. How did we get here, and how do we overgrow empire together? Especially as we confront the genocidal overreach of the Axis of Impunity.
